They

hung

a

stick

by

a

cord,

and

then

tied

an

object

to

each

end

of

the

stick.

The

object

that

weighed

the

most

pulled

its

end

of

the

stick

downward.

If

the

objects

weighed

the

same,

the

stick

stayed

parallel

to

the

ground.
