The
Cubic
Houses
in
the
Netherlands
were
designed
and
built
in
the
1970s.
There
are
38
houses
attached
to
each
other,
with
a
large
“super
cube”
at
each
end.
Each
cubic
house
sits
at
an
angle
on
a
pole.
It
has
concrete
floors
and
pillars
with
a
wooden
frame.
The
building
is
well-insulated,
with
double-glazed
windows
for
extra
protection
against
the
weather.
Some
of
the
Cubic
Houses
contain
hostel
rooms
for
tourists.
